Activities will prioritize services at voting and vote counting venues and bolster teams working out in the field

On next weekend, Brazilians will exercise their fundamental right to vote in the upcoming Elections. To ensure there are no energy supply problems, EDP’s electrical energy distributors in Espirito Santo and São Paulo are implementing a special technical service plan.

At the Company has already carried out improvements and conducted preventive maintenance on the electrical network, investing in equipment to increase system reliability. The plan also includes a special technical team that will be on stand-by during the Election on October 7, and on October 28, if a second round of voting is needed.

At the Distributors will increase the number of technicians, engineers and electricians who are on call. The Company’s Integrated Operations Center in both states have channels they can use to communicate directly with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) should any issues arise. EDP has also bolstered the number of teams out in the field to prioritize services at polling stations such as schools, notary offices, vote counting sites and in areas where crowds are expected.

EDP should be notified of any electricity issues immediately via our customer service channels:

- EDP Online Website: www.edponline.com.br

- EDP Online App (supported by Android™, iOS and Windows Phone)

- Customer Service Center: Espirito Santo: 0800 721 0707. Sao Paulo: 0800 721 0123 (toll-free 24/7 numbers)

Electrical energy safety tips

At the Company suggests the following safety tips to help customers avoid accidents involving electricity:

- Do not hang decorations on EDP electrical posts.

- Do not connect to the grid illegally, this will increase the risk of accident.

- Do not install signs or decorations near the electrical network.

- Never throw anything at the electrical network, whether or not it is made of metal. Items can become electrical conductors or cut the wires, causing serious accidents.

- When setting up stages in public areas, check proximity to electrical cables and notify the Distributor beforehand in order to move cabling away from the stage.
