Mogi das Cruzes, April 25, 2018 - EDP, a company that operates in all segments of the electric sector in the country, will launch the first electrician training course exclusively for women. The classes will be held in the Company concession area in Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo, and interested parties may register between 25th April and May 30, through the www.soulan.com.br/edp-eletricistas.

At the initiative is part of the Group commitment to the development of actions to promote equal opportunities between genders. In 2017, the EDP endorsed the Women Empowerment Principles, created by the UN, and joined the global effort towards the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS), which place Gender Equality as one of the large global targets to be achieved by 2020.

"The project, pioneering, meets EDP culture guidelines, which value diversity in all its dimensions. encourage the inclusion of women in a sector known as masculine and the possibility of the multiplication of possibilities in a more egalitarian and fair way", says Fernanda Pires, the company human resources director.

At the project is the result of a partnership between the Company and the National Service of Industrial Learning (also called SENAI). With an hourly load of 556 hours, about four months in duration, the program is free and has as its focus the qualification and training as an electrician of distribution networks. The students will receive scholarships during the course period, they will earn a certificate issued by SENAI and will remain in the talent bank of EDP, being able to participate in future selecting processes for effective vacancies.

At the course will have theoretical and practical lessons about the principles and laws governing the operation of electrical systems. The intention is that the participants learn about the procedures and necessary techniques for planning, execution, evaluation and inspection of networks, as well as for preventive and corrective maintenance, within the technical standards and security.

Registrations

At the School of Electricians will be held at EDP headquarters in Mogi das Cruzes from July to October. There are 16 places available. The requirements for qualification are as follows:

- Training: Full High School;

- Residing in the region of Alto do Tietê or proximity;

- Being at least 18 years of age;

- Availability of time for full-time study during 70 days;

- Preferably have CNH "B".

At the registration must be done on the site www.soulan.com.br/edp-eletricistas, up until May 30. The selection process includes theoretical and practical evidence, psycho-social assessment and interview.

It is worth mentioning that EDP offers students scholarships, course material, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), lunch and SENAI seal certification.
