Who we are

We are a global energy company, present in 14 countries and 4 continents. In Brazil, we are present in 12 Brazilian states, working in all segments of the electrical sector chain. We have over 3,000 employees, divided between the states of São Paulo, Espírito Santo, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Tocantins, Amapá, Ceará, Pará, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais and Maranhão. Social Responsibility

Through the EDP Institute, EDP supports several social projects in nine Brazilian states, in 2017 over 44 thousand people benefited directly from them. In addition, EDP is the master sponsor of the Portuguese Language Museum. The Museum was one of the most visited in Brazil before the fire that destroyed it at the end of 2015.

Until 2020 we want

We want to continue to grow sustainability, with balance and profitability. The Strategic Agenda for 2016-2020 defines the goals and paths chosen to achieve success:

  • Limit the share of coal in the power generation portfolio to 25% and promote projects to reduce CO2 emissions.
  • Provide energy efficiency products and services to reduce consumption in 100 GWh of energy to customers, compared to that recorded in 2014.
  • Invest R$ 100 million until 2020 in the expansion of telemetry in low voltage customers.
  • Invest R$ 100 million in innovative projects up to 2020.
  • Achieve 100% environmental certification and maintain frame with 100% critical suppliers in environment with management system.
  • Internalize the concept of circular economy and promote energy efficiency of EDP Brazil buildings
  • Evaluate the environmental externalities in EDP Brazil related to the priority ecosystem services.
  • Maintain levels of employee engagement above 75%.
  • Achieve 100% health and safety certification, and that 100% of critical health and safety suppliers have a management system.
  • Promote diversity, ensuring equal access to hiring processes.
  • Keep EDP Brazil as one of the most ethical companies in the country.
  • Achieve more than 80% of customer satisfaction and implement mechanisms for regular consultation with stakeholders.
  • Invest R$ 50 million in the promotion of social businesses and sustainable lifestyle initiatives.
